Display settings not retained
« on: August 03, 2010, 02:12:50 PM »
PCLOS KDE 2010 on intel graphics laptop running external monitor.  I disable the laptop LCD and set the VGA to correct resolution (auto) and accept config.  Working perfectly but settings are not retained if logout/login or after reboot.

Thanks

What tool are you using to change the display settings?  Have you tried doing it with root permissions?

Using:   Configure Your Desktop >> Computer Admin >> Display Settings
No password is requested but it asks to accept in order to keep these settings, implying they'll be retained.

I did get retention by setting up my resolution in PCC >> Hardware >> set up the graphical server

However there's no option to disable the laptop LCD which I only want to occur when there is  VGA connected.  Easily done under "Configure your Desktop"

Thanks
