Greetings!
I like PCLinuxOs 2010 so much, that I decided to install it on my old Fujitsu Siemens laptop too.
I was forced to install it via USB flash drive because like all the other distros I've tried on this laptop, PCLinuxOs can't detect the laptops CD/DVD-drive.
I've searched different forums and guides in the web.
I would be grateful for any tips on the subject.

I checked bios and the CD/DVD-drive is : HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-T20N-(PM).
Here's some of the things I've tried:
In /mnt there wasn't cdrom directory so I created it.
Then I tried in the Konsole : mount -t auto /dev/cdrom /mnt/cdrom and noticed,
that the device /dev/cdrom didn't exist.
Next I tried to replace /dev/cdrom with /dev/hda or /dev/hdbetc. up to /dev/sr4,
but that didn't help.

then I read in some guide how to check devices with command wodim --devices
That gives me:
[root@localhost jasn]# wodim --devices
wodim: No such file or directory.
Cannot open SCSI driver!
For possible targets try 'wodim --devices' or 'wodim -scanbus'.
For possible transport specifiers try 'wodim dev=help'.
For IDE/ATAPI devices configuration, see the file README.ATAPI.setup from
the wodim documentation.
The guide said that to use the command above, you have to be a member of the cdrom
group. Checked that and I am.
Also tried as a root, but got the same answer.

If there's anyone out there who could give some tips what I can still try, I'd be grateful.
As I said this is just my old laptop and I don't use it that much, but it would be nice to get it working properly.
