Here is something that is simple but have failed me for 2 days. I am starting to like kwrite and kate for that matter and perhaps I am getting them confused but running short of time to pin it down, spending too much time on Forum   ;D

Here goes, I have just installed LXDE and fully updated (well 2 days ago), I have looked through all kwrite configuration so far 3 times at least:

Picture a new empty kwrite page and I have put in a couple of empty lines so I start at line 3, typing this post line, right now if I move cursor up with the "UP" key it will flip back to character position 0 in the empty line. This happens here in forum edit box.

However  when I type in kwrite the cursor retains its character position, the cursor move up one line but does not 'flip'  it stays put  ??? ;D

When this is solved I have another little beauty  :D

Editted:  A few changes in order as I think I am seeing things  ;D ;D ;D

What I could have added was that my description works when I use pclos2010-KDE and kwrite, that is what gets me. I thought LXDE was close enough to KDE pclos.

I am happy to say the problem is solved after 3 days on and off minor configuring kwrite I finally got it.  There is an option to wrap the cursor, when that is set I get my 'normal way' , ie editing will work just like when using the forum edit box.

If wrap is not set, kwrite will appeal to programmers, or better suited for programming as I understand.  I am very happy.

Not an LXDE problem, so this topic landed in the wrong section.   ;D
