thank you

you could try what i said, do a redundant setup, having wifi as the primary, eth as secondary.

im writing this atm from a windows rig, not having linux connection on it atm, so cant spell it out exactly, but i know its possible as per provisions (fail switchover)

have a peek around

Didn't know it existed .......  had a look about but saw nothing obvious .......  any recollection what it might have been called?

to tell you the truth, im quite afraid if i exit the windows now, im gonna be locked out from the forum for at least a day, since at my local cant get linux connected atm.

i ll have it a look and post some in two days time, hope its no rush for ya.

have you tried/had the idea on a gui application for bandwidth management for a single machine, multiuser, being able to differentiate the applications/ports/protocols?

as i said, had no time on that exactly, but was my aim at one point in time

No, I have not had the need to bandwidth limit either for users on one PC or for other PCs connected.

I am asked in one of my kids wants to d/load something big .....  like a large video files .....  as they are aware that we have a d/load cap.
I guess I have been lucky in tha respect ......  else they know quite well that I would block their access completely if they abused the connection   ;D
