Thanks Tex,
I'll check it out.
What's the one in /etc/sysconfig for?
The reason for me asking is because after messing with trying to get the tweaks on the finish-install scripts I thought everything was fine with the install...until I remastered it to test it. When the login screen first appeared it was framed with a while boarder and it seems to 'snap' into place. I've never see this before. Almost as if the it was adjusting itself to the screen or resolution. After login there was no panels on the Desktop but when you mouse over where the panel should be you would get a tool tip where each icon would be. You couldn't see any panels or icon within the panels..yet the Desktop icons where there. When you click on the Install PCLinuxOS icon the drake install boarder would be the entire width and height of the screen. I tracked it down to the /etc/sysconfig/draklive-install.d directory. I think it was the "finished-install" text file that messed up the whole remaster. I think I might have changed some values. Anyway have you ever seen this before Tex?
Great job btw on the 2010.7 release. I've tested for a year looking for a solid base for my project and once again PCLOS is it.
Truthfully I don't know how you guys are doing it but whatever your doing is working. I haven't found another distro (Commercial or non-commercial) that compares with the quality of work, hardware support or functionality.
Tex is all this "developers" level information such as my question here and many other like it available in one place? How are you guys learning so well the ins and outs of KDE/GFXboot/grub, Plymouth? You guys seem to know it well enough to get around and build around it as soon as it become available. Is there a "secret" vault or something that you guys refer too to know what is needed to work with theses systems (plymouth, kde4, gfx/grub)? It seems all that I know is never enough and it always changes...so what I know now is useless on the next kde release...or whatever. How do you guys get up to speed quick enough to produce a product?
