An Appeal for Assistance
« on: July 26, 2010, 04:02:50 AM »
I would refer you to this thread
http://mypclinuxos.com/forum/index.php?topic=2779.0

which concerns the creation of a PCLOS specific application which will help users create their own USB Live installs of PCLOS ISOs.

The underlying script is written and functional.
That is where the project is at.

Required:

A GUI guru

Someone who can create a nice GUI for the project. One that would not look out of place beside any commercial application.
The whole thing can be done with Zenity ....  so it is simple enough in that regard ......  but Zenity or other dialog do not 'really' give the new user the impression that a more advanced GUI would.

A BASH scripter

The basic script is written but needs tidying and probably rewriting in parts.
The biggie is that error trapping needs to be completely done from scratch.
Particularly because of the nature of the process, clean exits on error, with information, are a necessity.

If you feel you have some knowledge in those areas in particular, please do respond -- even if you do not have the time to devote, your help and guidance would be appreciated. It may be all that is needed to allow someone less knowledgeable get the job done.

Thanks for reading this.
Have a read from the link provided above anyway even if you cannot help.

Thanks   ;)

Thanks .....  when it is ready for testing I am sure there will be some mention/announcement.

Still a lot to be done before that stage   ;)

If you can you might post your results in the thread at MyPCLinuxOS.

Thanks for the feedback.

Can't register there...

Everything filled in, "I agree" checked and "Register" button not active :-\
I told I'm not a bot but even when I tell I am there's no luck :)

I am using "AddBlock" extension only.
