Run PCLOS 2010 with Persistence on Flash Drive (Windows 7)
« on: July 24, 2010, 10:10:00 PM »
Hi All,

I have searched these forums and have found different things that didn't work.  If there is an existing solution to this, please be so kind as to direct me to the topic.

I am trying to install PCLOS 2010 to run from a flash drive on Windows 7.  I thought I'd found the solution in Toolfox's reply on this thread: http://www.pclinuxos.com/forum/index.php/topic,65058.0.html.  However, when I reached #15, there is no Utilities folder on my desktop and a search turned up no folder by that name.

Does anyone know a way to accomplish this?  And yes, I've tried net Unetbootin but it didn't allow persistence.

Thanks in advance,
r2r

Thank you for your response, Menotu.  The universal installer idea did not work. I kept getting an error message when attempting to boot that the file was too large; however, I'm using an 8GB flash drive so I'm not sure what the problem was.

I have replied on JohnBoy's thread, trying to find out if I can do this on Windows 7.

Thanks again!
