I have just installed PCLinuxOS 2010 LXDE, using a Live CD purchased from a commercial vendor, and additional software was added, including updates to the basic installation, from a repository disc-set purchased from the same vendor. All discs were purchased on one order at the same time.
My HP LaserJet P1006 printer installed with no major problems, using "hp-setup" (hplip-3.10.2), and it prints a perfect test page. "Leafpad" (v0.8.17) is presenting a printing problem, however. The font-size I see on-screen prints on the page much larger. See the attached images, where screen.png is what I see on-screen, and preview.png shows how the page is printed. Thus far, I have only used "Leafpad" and "Abiword", and the enlarged-font problem is not common to "Abiword". It should be noted, too, that files printed using "Leafpad", running under PCLinuxOS 2009.4 LXDE, did not have this problem; in fact, regardless of what screen font-size that was selected for on-screen viewing, the font-size printed was always the same (normally sized).
So, I am looking for a solution, or explanation for the enlarged-font printing problem with "Leafpad", and I am also wondering if it is possible to remove the filename and page numbering from printed pages. "Leafpad" did not put filenames and page numbers on printed pages, using the "Leafpad" version packaged with PCLinuxOS 2009.4 LXDE.
While I am writing, my compliments to Neal on the PCLinuxOS 2010 LXDE release. I experimented briefly with PCLinuxOS 2010.1 KDE, did not like the "widgets" and overall complexity of KDE4, and made the easy decision to stay with LXDE.
