Hi its refreshing to find XDE; such a great dist and I thought PCLinuxOS KDE was tops anyway!
Scenario - have installed the XDE to a removable USB hard drive which I run from - not live CD its an installation which I have tailored with likes of cairo-dock etc. Now I want to use this installation to be able to replicate it on any other computer. There is no more draklive on the desktop, nor in the files. So please advise how I can use this installation to reproduce others?

Last Q does XDE use gnome or KDE?
Thanks a lot.
Alistair.

Do you mean LXDE? (Light X11 Desktop Environment)

If you are running a live session, look in the menu under More Applications > Configuration for Install PCLinuxOS.

If you are running an installed system, update fully via Synaptic (Reload > Mark all upgrades > Apply > Apply), install draklive-install and follow this guide to create your live system.

Oh so easy when u know how tks vm!
So LXDE is not Gnome or KDE its LXDE right? If so, I'm just wondering when you use Synaptic, and its showing options eg like for Cairo-dock there is cairo-dock-gnome package; do you ignore that one by default? Cheers, Al.

No. Apply all updates.
LXDE is neither kde nor gnome. PCLinuxOS-LXDE makes use of some gnome stuff. In fact, you can install apps for gnome, xfce or kde via synaptic.  But choose your apps with the understanding that some apps will require dependencies be installed. Some of those installs may turn out to be very large.
