black screen

I have an old HP desk top computer that i was running Pclinuxos 5 on.  Everyting wash fine then the screen went black.  Now this happens everytime at the end of bootup.  the splash screen never appears and the monitor indicator light goes from green to yellow.  This is a 1300 series presario.  Thank you for any help.

Can you please confirm which PCLinuxOS you are running?

Edit: can you also add your the specs of your system
