Are you running KDE?

In that case I take it that the speaker icon has disappeared from the system tray on the panel. This is probably because Kmix has crashed, so first of all try restarting Kmix from the menu. (It could also be because the settings of either Kmix or the system tray has somehow become corrupted but we can get to that if just restarting Kmix doesn't help.)

If you used to have a speaker icon outside of the system tray, you could recreate it the normal way. (Unlock widgets, rightclick Kmix in menu, add to panel.)

Added:

If you are running KDE the shortcuts involving PrtScrn are set in "Configure Your Desktop"->"Computer Administration"->"Keyboard & Mouse"->"Global Keyboard Shortcuts"->"khotkeys" and "KWin". (But PrtScrn does double duty as the SysRq key.)

If you aren't running KDE, tell us which DE you are actually using.

blackbird you are making me realize that i removed kmix yesterday using synaptic so that is probably the cause of the lost of that icon. I don't know about the PrtSc not working but i will reinstall kmix and see.

Thanks :)

Click on the icon in your taskbar that says 'Configure your Desktop'. A menu will pop up that has options like "Look & Feel", "Advanced User Settings", etc etc

Click on 'Computer Administration' -> 'Input Actions' -> 'Input Actions'. The print screen option is there somewhere.

This is of course assuming that you are using the normal version of PCLinuxOS and not the GNOME or LXDE or any other versions (you will know if you are using those ones).

Zero Angel i'm using the normal KDE desktop of PCLOS and the printscreen is check under input actions>preset actions.

Following the instructions from blackbird i did verify the khotkeys but no kwin under it in KDE component and it is on printscreen also.

Working now, the problem was created when i removed ksnapshot yesterday because i wanted to remove some new programs like colorchooser and others like it so it's my fault and it's back to normal now.

Many thanks again for your time  :) ;) :)

Added: I reinstalled ksnapshot of course, just to let you know  8)
