only login sound ? check if Your "sounds effects" are on: right click on volem-control on gnome panel -> preferences -> sound effect -> choose one (with one You like) -> check volume of that sounds -> close -> and now try logout and login... to You hear sound ?

Hmm if that is not woking that please check in synaptic if
Code: [Select]
gnome-audio is installed... if not that install it... should work now

good luck!

go to panel /system/preferences/Startup applications (not if you call because my system is in Spanish) option appears GNOME Login Sound, you activate it, if you do not see this option creates a new entry, and the option command writes

/usr/bin/canberra-gtk-play --id="desktop-login" --description="GNOME Login"

Hi Infragilis

Thanks for the idea but I looked there many times before, that box is already checked for Gnome login sound.
All my sounds seem to work if I go to usr/share/sounds.

Edit

You just gave me a clue in there.I reinstalled Canberra from Synaptic and I now have the login sound back.

Muchas Gracias amigo
