You're still using LXDE? If yes, then yes you can.

I see. I believe you can remove those now. Texstar has been splitting up the KDE apps, so this can be done. Just pay attention and do not go ahead with the uninstall, if other packages are going to be removed with them. Instead, post back here about what would be removed.

Ok will do,

Is there a way to remove all those new stuff added recently if i don't use it, it seems like really good programs but if i don't use them i would like to be able to remove them, is that possible or is it better to leave that the way it is ?

I read a post from Texstar mentioning that it's safe to remove unwanted apps that were installed after he broke up the metapackages.
So I did it & no problems for me. Synatics removed the metapak along wth the app I nixed & all was ok.

Just always check what it is, if another package is to be removed with what you mark for removal.

I did verified one other post before asking the question but it seems that it was mostly a post about somebody who acted inappropriately (sorry if the word is not right, i'm still french) and to make sure that i was doing the right thing i decided to ask the question anyway, better be safe than sorry :)

I understood that, OrdiDoc. That's why I didn't post a link to that thread. I was trying to help tell you about it. I hope I've been some help. :)

As usual Neal your help is more than welcome and thanks again, the same for johnmart. I did remove a lot of new programs that were installed recently, they seems to be useful but for now i don't need them. I'm thinking about using MiniMe, maybe it's the way to go for me and i have read a lot of posts about it so i may give it a try :)

Have a nice day.

When I tried to remove thai-data ("thai conspiracy" thread ;)) that wanted to remove very basic stuff.
I was curious and as far as I was just installed PCLOS said to Synaptic "YES, REMOVE THEM!".

Synaptic won't agree, telling me I'm stupid and nothing removed.
Being an uncompromising dumb I repeated that. No chance... ;D

uncleV,
1) I refer you to my reply in that thread.
2)OrdiDoc is not trying to remove a system file. He wants to remove apps that he doesn't use.
