invisiable emails in Thunderbird
« on: July 18, 2010, 02:02:24 AM »
Hi all, I am running a AMD X2 5000+ with 2 gig memory and the latest updated version of PCLOS2010 and KDE4.4.x. I have check to make sure that I am running the latest version of Thunderbird 3.0.5   The issue that I am having is when I check email it will show for example that I have x many number of new emails. When I look at the in box I see nothing but the old already read emails and than blank areas when the new emails should be listed (see attached). I can not see anything if I click on the line or on the small arrow at the left side of the window. If I close out Thunderbird and than reopen it, it still says I have x many new messages but shows the same-thing. Yes I have even rebooted the machine, the same results occur. Even removing and reinstalling does not correct the issue. I have went as far as removing the .thunderbird folder and letting the program creat a new on and the results remain the same.  After a few days (1 or 2) the emails will mystically appear out of nowhere. (see 2nd attached image) After they reappear I can read them normally.

Does any one know what is going on with this, or can anyone give me any suggestions on what to look for so I can correct this issue. Your help is appreciated.

I had similar issues when I manually restored the .thunderbird folder from backup - when TB was running. If you did anything like that, make sure TB is not running while you do it.
Other than that, I really don't have a clue...

Cheers!
