Last night I noticed that there was an update to xfce4-taskmanager (upgraded to ver. 1.0.0) available in the PASS repository. I applied it and went back to work. This morning, out of curiosity I checked the Task Manager and discovered that it isn't working properly ... It is not displaying any process-type information like it did before the update. I fiddled with its Preferences but didn't have any success.

I'm attaching two screenshots of how it looks on my system. Another quirk is that the Task Manager seems to have disappeared from all of the system menu choices; it also doesn't appear listed under the Xfce Application Finder. I can only start it from a Terminal.

I'm not sure if this is just my problem, or if other users are experiencing this too. This isn't a big problem but I would appreciate it if anyone can explain why it's happening or how to fix it.

Thanks,
=david

Yes, I did reboot the computer. When I updated, Synaptic did not generate any error messages or warnings. Only a few packages were upgraded; if I remember correctly, the update included some of the gstreamer libraries as well.

Thanks for trying to help; I appreciate it. At this point, I'll wait for confirmation that this is affecting other people and not just me. I don't believe that I did anything to cause the problem.

I think the problem has been fixed by Texstar (or Joble). This afternoon xfce4-taskmanager was updated from ver. 1.0.0-1 to 1.0.0-2. I just updated, and the newest version is behaving normally.

The utility has also returned to the menu structure: it's under PC [main menu] > More Applications > Monitoring > XFCE Task Manager. I'm attaching a screenshot of its output.

A big "Thank you!" to whoever did this. If it was you, Tex, you are The Fastest Packager in The West. If it was you, Joble, you're ... well, The Fastest Packager in Montana.  :)

Thanks again; it's great to have the Task Manager working.

Wasn't me that fixed it.  I was goofing off.  Glad it got sorted out.
