Eh no ;) its one thing to be funny other to be rude. Something between exists but can be misunderstood and I dont like to be misunderstood.

I've got a very old laptop running an old version of Puppy, reasonably well... Not sure if its 64 or 128mb tho... Havent used it in ages to be honest...

These days I'd most probably try Debian as its so easy to cut down to size. This guy runs Lenny on a 200 mmx with 32 mb:-

For that spec, I would suggest Slitaz. You can add as you like from there, see what it can cope with. :)

Hi,

3 remarks on this, from a Puppy fan:
--------------------------------------------

- On boot try to edit with acpi=off added on boot option line. It solves most of stuckies and HW-aging probs'. Gparted and Testdisk
Cfdisk and even Abiword/Gnumeric can rescue a lot without a fancy desktop where it's too heavy for any reason.
- Another option to add, with something like: pfix(Puppy term)=noram which minimizes RAM consuming to nearly half,
  slows but not too slow.
- With an option called like absolute link try to drop out some hi-consuming programs to a nearbyFS-folder until you
call them. This is good especially if you boot a tinned base into RAM (as I plan to do soon myself, for a short boot from flash).

I think Jwm with ROX filer (with relative/absolute link opt') can be awesome as a low-resource test on unknown/broken HW,
and treating systemon root safely and easily as well.

Thanks. 8)

Tinyflux  released  2007-11-02

I would go (God forbid) the Debian way instead  ;)

BTW I  installed it some time ago but didn't like it (don't remember why) and downloaded Tiny me, a good remaster at that time.

any good therefore that I can do,
or any kindness that I can show
let me not defer nor neglect it,
for I shall not pass this way again.

I think I will give up with Linux, for some stuff like in this case Windows is still better, I will not have a mylivecd option, but will find a solution, Thanks for the suggestions.

Did you try slitaz as suggested? I don't see much luck happening with windows on such low spec either.
