Hi,
I would have been interested to use it in a version meant to be easy but as small as possible. I just noticed the description in Synaptic:
Lightweight X11 session manager derived from XSM
LXSession is the default X11 session manager of LXDE.
(LXDE: Lightweight X11 Desktop Environment)
http://lxde.sourceforge.net/
Though being part of LXDE, it's totally desktop-independent.
It doesn't depend on any desktop environment, and has few dependencies.
The goal of this project is to make a simple and clean a X11 session
manager which isn't tied to any desktop environment.
Well, while trying to install it, theses are what I get:
libpython2.5-devel (version 2.5.2-4pclos2010) will be installed
lxde-common (version 0.4.2-3pclos2010) will be installed
lxde-settings-daemon (version 0.4-2pclos2010) will be installed
lxsession-lite (version 0.3.8-3pclos2010) will be installed
lxterminal (version 0.1.7-1pclos2010) will be installed
nuoveXT2-icon-theme (version 0.4.2-3pclos2010) will be installed
pcmanfm (version 0.5.2-1pclos2010) will be installed
python-setuptools (version 0.6c11-2pclos2010) will be installed
python-trash-cli (version 0.11.2-2pclos2009) will be installed
python-unipath (version 0.2.1-2pclos2009) will be installed
xscreensaver-common (version 5.03-2pclos2007) will be installed
xscreensaver-gl (version 5.03-2pclos2007) will be installed
Which would be 37,1 MB more on the hard drive.
Wouldn't it be possible to get a lighter "Lxsession-lite" ? And maybe just a "Lxsession" package besides of it, with theses depends for whom would need them ?
Thanks,
Mélodie
