2010 screen saver not working
« on: July 14, 2010, 03:28:58 PM »
No matter which screen saver i select, the System Settings crashes immediately.  Is there a fix for this bug or doesn't anyone else have this  problem???

Nope - not happening on my system.  Have you checked that your graphic card/driver is set to the right one?
PCLinuxOS 32bit KDE 4.10.1; kernel-3.4.11-pclos1.bfs & 64bit 3.2.18bfs; NVidia GeForce 8400GS 1GB 310.19 driver

Thanks for responding.  I made a good LiveCD of my 2009.2 install and my 2010.1 install.  Neither of these have a problem with screen saver. BUT as soon as I run 2010 from hdd, I cannot run screen saver. I checked video settings for both LiveCD's and the 2010 hdd  install and all are the same.  I  must be missing something....

I seemed to have solved this problem.

On the Menu, under "more applications" --> "configurations" ---> "screensaver" [next to last item] I was able to get the screen saver to function.

However, I still cannot get the screen saver to function by using the "Configure your desktop" ---> "Look and Feel" ---> "Desktop" ---> "Screen saver"  Any choice here crashes the "Configure Your Desktop" with a message to report the bug, and that window is useless and goes nowhere.
