Power Management
« on: July 09, 2010, 01:18:54 AM »
I am having trouble understanding the Power Management part of  "Configure Your Desktop".

In Power Management, General Settings, "Let PowerDevil manage screen powersaving" is ticked.  Before doing a suspend action is now set to 20 minutes.  The profile assigned is 'Powersave'.

In the Powersave profile management, there are 3 tabs.  The first is 'Actions'.  I have set when the system is idle for 10 minutes to "Turn off screen".

The second tab is 'Screen'.  I have standby at 10 minutes, suspend at 20 minutes and power off after 40 minutes.

The third tab is 'CPU and System'.  CPU frequency scaling policy is set to "Dynamic (On Demand)".  System Powersaving Scheme is set to "powersaving".

I have attempted to make all settings consistent and appropriate but I don't know whether I have achieved that.  The results I want are those on the 'Actions' and 'Screen' tabs.  Can anyone shed any light on the merits of my settings?
