[SOLVED] How to install FVWM on PClinuxOS

[Klinux]

Here I will explaine in simple steps how to install FVWM for PClinuxOS:

DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK, AND BACKUP, BACKUP, BACKUP

Go here: http://fvwm-themes.sourceforge.net/rpm/
Download:
- fvwm-2.5.27-1.src.rpm
- fvwm-2.5.27-1.i386.rpm

Optionally also:
- fvwm-themes-0.7.0-2.noarch.rpm
- fvwm-themes-extra-0.7.0-2.noarch.rpm

Start PClinuxOS
Terminal
Login as root
rpm -Uvh fvwm-2.5.27-1.src.rpm
rpm -Uvh fvwm-2.5.27-1.i386.rpm
rpm -Uvh fvwm-themes-0.7.0-2.noarch.rpm
rpm -Uvh fvwm-themes-extra-0.7.0-2.noarch.rpm

when done
reboot
You should be able to select a fvwm-themes session at your login screen

PLUS one more thing...

Installing from outside the repo is not really recommended thats one. Two - if You want to install RPMs from outside the repo its better to use

apt-get install /path/to/file.rpm
for example

apt-get /home/andrzejl/Download/fvwm*.rpm
will install all the rpm files which name starts with fvmn from the /home/andrzejl/Download/ folder AND it will pull all their dependencies from PCLinuxOS repository (or will warn that they are missing) which will not happen when You use rpm command to install rpms from outside the repo.

I assumed that FVWM is a common know name like KDE, GNOME, XFCE are.
I assumed that FVWM is a common know name like we all know what GPL, GNU are

Next time I will not assume ;-)...but if next time I will ask anybody what KDE is, don't look at me strange 

BTW, I haven't tried FVWM much, but its not much user friendly, you can see, its something from the past, something from the old Linux era.

Well I did find this ....

The F Virtual Window Manager (The F currently has no official meaning [1]) is a virtual window manager for the X Window system.

So I guess that answers (in some manner) my question

I didn say anything wrong, there are thousends of words starting with F ;-)

whatever term anybody gives to that F, it doesn't matter.

KDE stands for the K Desktop Environment  (with the K not having any definition at all)

And I think the K, USED to stand for Kool Desktop Environment. which was taken from CDE - common desktop environment, or similar.

Geeks, what would you do without them ?    

BTW, BPsoftware, was you a Double Glazing Salesman/Fitter in another life coz you sure do like your new Window Themes.
