sorry but i bet that both jokes comes from Argentina

that a soccer team loose in the world cup is nothing that hasn't happened before, especially for argentina that had the opportunity to compete in many of them, almost each one

there will be other world cups so no hurt feelings 

you are seeing this from a very rigid perspective, in this moment some countries are preparing the next teams for 2014 world cup

to have a world cup winner you need 200 teams loosing, if you can't see it this way, you are not seeing the whole picture

about regional jokes, each country has one and that includes each country on america
