Ok I reinstalled  using SAFE MODE VESA that solved my screen blanking out during installation and I got to interact with GRUB. Now she Boots! Hooray!
Hey you guys should have been all over Safe Vesa Boot when I mentioned my display blacked out. I can see right now I'll be taking over this Dog
and Pony show in a couple of years.  :D

So now finally I have PCLinuxOS MiniMe on an itsy bitsy teeny weeny yellow polka dot partition.
Spoke to soon. I tried to get out of that low rez screen via PC Control Center and kablooey back to a blank screen.
Had to reset MANUALLY. Then Linux would come up and drop me on a command line wondering how to get my desktop back from a command line????

Anyhow I guess this is an opportunity to try and install PCLinux2010 KDE on the same partitions and I see I have to use VESA Safe Mode with it as well.
And It Works Yippy Skippy!

I'm pretty sure now that all the problems with my Screen Blackening out was due to a Hardware problem with
my monitor. Since I replaced my monitor with an identical model I have not had that problem for 2 weeks since.

PCLinuxOS2010 KDE Full was innocent all along.
