This will give you some virtual memory, using the pagefile.sys from XP, which is already consuming drive space, without needing to re-partition the drive...

The other thing I sometimes do with long running LiveCD sessions (particularly when administering an ailing XP install), is to enable sshd
, and create myself a user, which can then be used to remotely access the system (backups, etc...whatever). This way, I don't have to be at that PC all the time, but can work from the comfort of my familiar desktop
However, there are some inherent risks associated with opening well known ports, so I wouldn't recommend this as regular, noob fodder
