Hello everyone,
I've been using Linux for over 4 years but I'm really still a n00b so please bear with me.
Months ago (February?) I thought I had successfully upgraded to 2010. I downloaded a huge update and it seemed to have updated everything to 2010 with few struggles. Lately however, I've been having problems with Synaptic connecting. When I checked the repositories to try switching them, I noticed they all said pclinuxos/2007 and wouldn't connect.
# cat /etc/issue tells me:
PCLinuxOS release 2010 (PCLinuxOS) for i586 <--- lead me to believe I updated my system successfully
Kernel 2.6.26.8.tex3 on a Dual-processor i686 / <---I believe means I'm actually still using 2007/2009(?)
I was wondering if my issues could be solved by changing /etc/apt/sources.list or by some other means or if I really should just do a fresh install.
If a fresh install is required, I was wondering if I could use that 2009 repository in the meantime if I'm using the gnome version?
Thanks in advance,
Jo
