OGRE 1.6.3
« on: June 14, 2010, 03:01:14 PM »
I'm trying to build OGRE 1.6.3, but it complains about libCEGUI.  Apparently libCEGUI version 1.7.1 doesn't work with 1.6.3.  Even with using version 1.6.5 it won't compile.  On Mandriva and Fedora they seem to use CEGUI 0.6.1.

There is OGRE version 1.7.1, but that uses a completely different form of compiling (different file name, uses cmake).

So I'm pretty much stuck on this one.  Going to have to completely rework the specfile just to use 1.7.1.

They use 0.6.0 somwhere down this page: http://www.ogre3d.org/tikiwiki/Building+From+Source+-+Linux+-+Shoggoth&highlight=libcegui

I have seen several times that the version checks fail (especially when going from 0.x to 1.x) - could be a version check fail.

I would go for the newest OGRE, perhaps from SVN, and the latest libcegui.

It depend on what error you get,

Is it really worth the hassle? Seems like a lot of work for some obscure program that most of us won't be using. It could be just a case of crappy code.

Thanks to everyone who donates. You keep the servers running.

Yeah, now that I think about it, OGRE is currently isn't worth it.
