[Solved]Boot problem
« on: June 09, 2010, 04:22:27 AM »
I'm running KDE4 with vmlinuz-2.6.32.10-pclos2.bfs.
And I like it.
Got following boot problem a few days ago.
Booting was exceptionally slow.
So I Escaped and saw following messages:
Code: [Select]
Cannot open file delete
Loading module.. (can't remember them all)
Waiting for device sda9 to appear (timeout 1 min)
Waiting for device sda5 to appear (timeout 1 min)
Creating root device

Booting is normal after 1 min.
sda9 is root and sda5 is swap.
I'm not sure what caused the change in booting.
Update, Install of Musescore..?
Don't have this problem with other distro.

Any ideas what, where to look?

Have you added any new hardware like another hard drive or played with another distribution recently?

Thanks to everyone who donates. You keep the servers running.

Have you resized any of your partitions since installing PCLinuxOS?

Thank you.
Did not add any hardware.
Added another partition (sda3 primary) to install salix-13.1 at unused part of disk.
Install borked: could not write files to disk (sda3) due to faulty files.
No problems with other partitions (Slackware and windooz)

Using PCC > Local Disks > Manage disk partitions format the drive that failed as ext4.

Did that to no avail.
