Good news that you are up and running  Grin

For the sound what do you see when you go to:

PCC (Configure Your Computer) >> Hardware >> Sound Configuration

What driver is set?

Do you have on board (motherboard) sound or do you have a sound card? What model is it?

In the bottom panel near the clock there should be a speaker icon - click on it and make sure the volume is turned up.

Try that for the moment

*********************************************************************************************

"Here you can select an alternative driver (either OSS or ALSA) for your sound card (Intel Corporation|N10/ICH 7 Family High Definition Audio Controller).

Your card currently use the ALSA "snd_hda_intel" driver (default driver for your card is "snd_hda_intel")"

this is what i see - turned up volume as well, no luck sadly , can anyone advise as to why i don't hve sound, if i am not mistaken, on board sound card

thank u
