[SOLVED] Panel in E17
« on: June 07, 2010, 10:17:34 PM »
I recently reinstalled E17 on my desktop. I LOVE itask-ng... but on to my question is it possible to run the XFCE or gnome panel in E17? I kinda miss an actual panel....

I know I can make one out of the shelf but it just isn't the same to me.

Well , I do not think there is any problem in using what you said.
To make the shelf as you want, look here:

After much trial and error I made my desktop into this

I loaded a module called winlist ng and was wondering what exactly it is I tried running it but all I get is the configuration screen then I exit out and it is no where in sight :(

Oh and I think your themes are the best themes for E17 ever!

When you do that, all your widgets seem to float on the desktop. Really nice looking desktop, Lee2010.

All it took was making a shelf adding a "start button" taskbar gadget and a digital clock.
Works like a charm
@coffeetime thanks I didn't notice at first.... now my desktop is awesome!

Very nice ;D  I too like a top panel with that arrangement and dock launcher at the bottom. Very slick ;)

Winlist NG works like this:
Load the module, then open the settings panel and go to the input tab.
Open the 'key bindings' config screen and select the Alt + Tab combi, then on the right side select NG Winlist/ Show next window.
Then use Alt + Shift + Tab for 'show previouw window' and click apply

Now when you switch windows with alt + tab or alt + shift + tab the winlist ng will popup.

smurfslover,

Can you copy those instructions to here?  http://www.pclinuxos.com/forum/index.php/topic,69723.15.html

Would be great to have all e17 how-tos in the same area. Thanks for the tutorial.
