Battery monitor bug in LXDE?

Hi all, I installed the battery monitor on the panel in my LXDE install and as soon as you unplug the charger it gives a low battery warning (while showing 99% charge). Removing the monitor the laptop ran for 2 1/2 hours. (new battery in a Dell D420 which 2.5 hours is about right)

Has anyone seen this?

just tested it on my AAO and no problems
