I have searched Google and the forums for the answer to this without a clear answer. I had freq scaling working and after updating to newer kernels I cannot get it working again. I had my system set to 'ondemand' but cannot duplicate my efforts. Here's what I tried:
In a terminal I typed su to become root with password. Then I used cpufreq-set --governor ondemand
That worked and I typed exit, then typed cpufreq-info to confirm it changed from performance to ondemand. However, it would not stick on reboot. What am I missing or not doing correctly? My laptop is running hot again and just needs ondemand enabled again to bring it down about 20 degrees C like before (worked fine till late last week). It's not working with 2.6.32.11, 2.6.33.4bfs or 2.6.33.5bfs so I am not sure what got borked.
