i have my system partially on spanish but some parts are on english

kde and openoffice both are on spanish but the rest is on english

i have set most of the information like paper size from a4 to letter and measure system from imperial to metric but still openoffice talks about inches and i need it to talk on centimeters

i can't find anything in openoffice to make it talk about centimeters

did i missed some step?

thank you for answering, that parameter only modifies the rules showed around the page when you write

Not here. Format/page gives me most measurements in centimeters and a few in points. I thought it just picked that up from the global language or country settings, but I have to test it. (I need some sleep first, though.)

could it be that i need to delete config files for openoffice or maybe reinstall it with the current kde settings on language and metrics?

I did that:

You can select separate measurement units for OpenOffice.org Writer, OpenOffice.org Writer/Web, OpenOffice.org Calc, OpenOffice.org Impress and OpenOffice.org Draw documents.
1.Open a document of the type for which you want to change the measurement units.
2.Choose Tools - Options.
3.In the left pane of the dialogue box, double-click the application for which you want to select the measurement unit.
Double-click OpenOffice.org Writer if you want to select the measurement units for text documents.
4.Click on General.
5.On the General tab page, select the measurement unit. Close the dialogue box with OK.

That would be the option one above from that what blackbird showed.

This might be a workaround - if somewhat clumsy:

For example, in a text document, open Format - Paragraph - Indents & Spacing. To indent the current paragraph by one inch, enter 1 in or 1" into the "Before text" box. To indent the paragraph by 1 cm, enter 1 cm into the input box.

T6 I think this parameter depends on the printer you have configured, I'm talking from windows experience, don't know in Linux

i didn't checked the writer general settings, i only checked the openoffice general settings

i don't have printer, not even a ghost printer so it can't be that, in linux those settings depends on the localization, kde settings and openoffice, i forgot to set openoffice, it seems that if i learn something i need to forget something else
