[SOLVED]Display resolution/size not remembered after log out

hi all,
hope this is the right place to this question.

i  set 'restore previous session' in the session manager, and set the resolution to 1024 something value and then logout.

then again log in, and the display has turned into 868 something value.

how to make it remember the values i set?...


my monitor doesnt have a prob with 1024 something value, which i have been using with many os for many years.

did you set the resolution for your monitor in pcc (the blue circle with tools)?
are you using the correct drivers for your graphic card?
after setting the correct values, click test. you should se  rainbow like vertical bars. click ok. reboot.
