last week i connected my cellphone, a sonyericsson w395 as a usb mass storage device and could copy and delete files, work with it as usually, today it is not working, is not there on the devices list on dolphin or in the device notifier, the weird thing is that it is listed when i write lsusb

[j@localhost ~]$ lsusb
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub
Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub

on pcc both are present, one using the usb_storage module and being recognized as what i want it to be under hard disks and another one as a usb mass storage device also loading same module

i haven't changed kernel in the last month so i don't think it is a problem

since i bought it, one of the partitions never worked on linux but worked on windows, now both can't be accessed on linux

i am not worried for the first one since it is a 13 mbs partition, the internal memory of the phone but the other one, 1 gb sd card is important for me, ideas what to do here?

I had the same problem with a SAMSUNG GT-S5600 cellphone.

In the log files i detected, that the usb-device after plug-in switched to the modem-mode.

I solved this by uninstalling the module usb_modeswitch (i have no usb-modem connected so i don't need it).
Now i can mount and access my SD-card again - like i could with PCLOS 2007.

the cellphone can work on 3 modes but it was failing to load contents to show them in the explorer, it was the cellphone doing things wrong, not a good model

I have the same problem using the usb option with my Samsung D600. I get around this by using using bluetooth. it is painfully slow but at least it works.

I have the same issue but mine is a LG vu and i've check i don't have the usb_modeswitch installed but that does give me an  idea on why i can't use my computer card reader but i can use the printer card reader
