Solved-Unable to burn DEVEDE image with K3B

I have a .FLV video.I converted it to a DVD image,not an iso with DEVEDE.The saved file plays with SM player.When I try to burn it using K3B I get these messages:

-The project does not contain all necessary Video DVD Files

- The resulting DVD will not be playable on a Hi-Fi dvd player
- Could not determine size of resulting image file

What do I need to do to have K3B burn a DVD?

i'm sorry, i can't understand what you wrote well, if you created a dvd image it must be a .iso file

if all you did was convert a flv video to a avi video file, this is not a dvd image, it is just a avi and you can't burn it as a dvd image, you can burn it as a avi file and then watch it on a normal dvd player but it will not be a dvd video, it will be a file in .avi(or mpeg/mp4) file that will require that the player can play divx files(most of the recent dvd players can do this since 2007)

if you must create a dvd video, open again devede and select create dvd video, select again the flv file and let the process create the iso you need, the iso can be burned by any burner app including brasero, k3b and other apps

the iso you are creating, try it first in a dvd-rw, as you are learning to use the app, you can end up wasting dvds while you create what you want

I was unable to use an iso dvd,the dvd player wouldn't play it.Someone told me a raw iso dvd will not play in a dvd player,why I tried another format.I did use a dvd-rw.What am I missing?

you have to burn the iso as the file structure it is, maybe you burned it as a file?

i don't know what a raw iso is

some devices doesn't like a dvd-rw, playstation 2 and older dvd players

is that the case here?

I made an iso file of the avi file with devede,then saved the dvd file.Instead of opening K3B ,which wouldn't allow me to burn the dvd file saved, I right clicked the file for burn K3B.That worked.I now have the dvd file burned on a dvd+rw.It plays with sm player, but will not play on my sony dvd recorder player,message:disc can not be read,or recorded. What do I need to do to have this dvd play on a stand alone player?

I copied a wmv file to devede,then used k3b to burn a dvd .I thought I had it,then I got this.How do I correct this?

Can't Really helpyou but I have made many DVD's by authoringing them in DEVEDE, checking the field to create the ISO image and them burned the disk with k3b. Never even needed to read about the setting. I leave just about everything set to default. But  will say other day I got a coaster when I tried to burn the movie to the DVD disc. Image played fine on the computer but would not convert and burn to the disk correctly. At least it would not play one my stand alone player. I can't recall it it I tried the disk on the computer or not.

To burn a playable DVD you must have all its files etc included.
The process that makes these files from video files is called Authoring.

I have used DVDStyler for this purpose, as if it is fed compatible video files it does hte job rather quickly.

I suggest you try that app and put the video file/s into it and then test it out.

I installed dvdstyler, and it's associated files from synaptic.When I try to launch it, nothing happens.I tried opening the devede file with it also.What am I missing?

I read in devede help that devede uses dvd author, it was already installed in synaptic.

 No idea why it won't work on your player, mine give me no problems.

I was able to burn a dvd that plays on a stand alone dvd player.i can only do it this way:

1.Convert a .flv.mov.etc video file to a dvd image with devede save to a folder.

2.Right click the file in the folder chose actions> write image to disc with K3B

3 Burn image.

 That sounds pretty much like what i suggested the first time. It works, so your question is answered, yes?

Devede creates the DVD image, and K3b burns the image. Resulting disc is playable. All is well with the world.

My problem is using K3B ,launching it,then adding  devede files to it then trying to burn a dvd.Then I get the error that I don't have all the files I need.The drag and drop of devede files from a folder doesn't work,yet if I use the right click on the same file in the folder K3B will burn that.Why won't K3B burn drag and drop devede files?
