VM Software......
« on: May 24, 2010, 12:20:11 PM »
hello all,

I'm a newbie using PCLOS. Please forgive my ignorance if my questions are lame.

I was wondering if multiple VM software would be okay to install (Wine and Virtual Box)? Would this be a good idea? If not okay, which one is okay to use though. Is Virtual Box already installed by default on PCLOS?

Thanks in advance. Any comment would be very much appreciated.

They don't interfere with each other.  Just make sure that you have sufficient RAM to run them, if you do run them at the same time.

Tip,

wine is not for running another OS, it is simply for making certain Winders programs work.

VM software is for running an entire OS of your choice. It could be Winders or another Linux Distro like umbrella-tu. If you are using VM to run a copy of Winders, ALL of the Winders software should work, if you have enough ram.   ;)

VirtualBox is not installed by default. You can get it through Synaptic.
