No keyboard after install-solved
« on: May 23, 2010, 08:26:33 PM »
Neighbor asked me to install Linux on a Dell laptop Latitude C610 (8-9 years old?), tried LXDE on it and it seemed to run fine, so I installed it, no problems, until I rebooted and then it get to the part where you need to assign a root password and then I find out I no longer have a working keyboard (or mouse)
tried (with out luck)
Option3. Boot LiveCD and copy /etc/sysconfig/keyboard to the /etc/sysconfig folder on the installed partition. (tested)
Other searches using "no+keyboard+after+install" gave me nothing.
tried Safe Boot, but still no keyboard so that's a no-go as well
any suggestions that don't involve massive damage to  the laptop ? (I'm way too tempted as it is)

Puppy? Slitaz ?

Fixed it, had to edit grub (I hate when that happens)
