Screensaver xdaemon not sticking in openbox...

This pertains to the Openbox 2010....
I encountered this screensaver xdaemon window too many times now.

...when i set up my screensaver {lavalamp}...it works fine if i do not SHUTDOWN...
...after shutting down/rebooting - it does'nt come on after {10} minutes...so i have to do it again.

- it works fine again until i shutdown.  etcetera...

I believe some command or something is not loaded?

I believe someone besides myself has this scenario?

It's probably an easy fix, ...I found this : http://www.jwz.org/xscreensaver/man1.html  -but do not want to fool with the factory OPENBOX settings... I am not familiar with this file system inhere, its a bit different than others, and some "names"/places are unfamiliar or not there...

Is there an ez fix?

But still no screensaver, nonetheless... otherwise it works well on my stuff, whereas Zen had some issues.

........Hi melodie,  Thanks....I think our timing is a bit off...

I am out of town at the moment, and have tested the Openbox on only this one seniors machine....I won't get back home till later this week, and will do some further testing on other machines to be sure-before posting any more "faults" or complaints...
..this is an old Sony p3 with an old intel onboard videocard, with only 384 mb of ram...otherwise OB works well.

I have several other machines at home, some much better, some as old.

If you live in the States : I'm geographically 6 hours later (I can tell you -somehow- the future ). May this explain the "timining a bit off" ?

It happens that you want some screensavers. It happens I was told that instead of saving screens, it contributes to use them for no purpose. As a result, I never put screensavers on my machines, and if there is one I remove the related packages. Now, you come with an Openbox install and want a screensaver : you have the right to have one. So I did a research, and I think after I read the threads you showed, that you can have one. Just add the relevant command to the autostart.sh file that is in the .config/openbox directory in your home. I put the link to the tips and tricks so that you can have a global view on all that you can do to make personal changes, and you are welcome to ask more questions if needed. If I know the answer, I will give it gladly.

I was getting flustered in the directories...hav'nt kept up with unix stuff...flux, blackbox etc...

....I was unfamiliar with the locations in pclos openbox = this will do, thank you very much!!!
