Is anyone, besides me, having problems with both Firefox and Thunderbird when trying to play either audio files or videos. Thunderbird will occasionally make the link to Firefox, or the appropriate app, and play it. But quite often it has no idea what to do with the file. The same for ".pps" files. Sometimes it will make the link to OpenOffice for the ".pps" and sometimes it wants to save it.
Firefox will simply shut down if I try to play an ".mp3" from a link in a URL. If Thunderbird actually makes a link and sends the necessary information to Firefox for a video format Firefox will simply shut down.
In all cases, restarting Firefox is normal.
Opera works fine, as does Flock and Seamonkey.
The simple solution is to switch to Seamonkey, which I will probably do. But the basic problem is just "too weird" not to ask about. With the Audio Cd playing problems in 2010, I thought there might be a connection between the two.
