Openbox clock....PDF files...{solved}
« on: May 22, 2010, 08:46:53 PM »
I was wondering if there is a way to change the clock in the NEWest Openbox 2010 from military time {24 hr} to regular 12 hr, or am/pm...?

I tried to find the place but its a "bit' different than lxde, or gnome....

...other than that the PDF default reader is GIMP , so i changed it to Foxitreader for now...

Thank you,

JN.

Hello:
Open pcmanfm (file manager)
Navigate to /home/user account/.config/tint2rc
Scroll down until you see the clock section.  In the line "time1_format = %H:%M"
Change this line to %L:%M %P

%H is for 24hr  %L is 12 hr %M is 00 to 59 minutes  %P is am/pm

Tint2 is the taskbar at the top of the screen.

There is also an app in the repos called tintwizard
With tintwizard it makes it easier to configure Openbox.

.....I noticed i could right clik on it {taskbar} while on the net, to get an editor {gedit} (or anything) from the MENU

..Nice feature!

I found this on code letters that might be useful to someone :  BSD Library Functions Manual

To me, Openbox is a horse of a different color - but this difference may also be attributable to all the recent changes in the 2010's....many things have been 'standardized' in all the "flavors' {like packaging} which is good...I dunno HOW they do it - certain OTHER distros seem to have difficulty in this area....just by themself  ::)

Openbox is growing on me, although I noticed some keyboard stuff does'nt seem to apply..... :-\

...Thanks again, k9... ;)
