Toolbar trouble, firefox and pclos icons gone missing. SOLVED

Gooday all. As the title suggests, I am having trouble with the tool bar on a fairly new installation of PCLOS2010. It has been working beautifully since I got it going. When I went to it yesterday the pclos button had moved to the middle and above the tool bar and there was no response when I clicked it. The firefox icon had disappeared also. I went to the recently used menu and sent another icon for FF to the desk top. Usually if I drag that icon down to the tool bar  I can drop in there and the other icons will move aside. Yesterday it just sat in behind the others and could not be clicked. This morning the FF button has gone altogether and so has the pclos button. I had to come to my other HD to post this to ask for help as I can't access FF on the other. I did a search on the site and found a number of tool bar problems but none were the same as mine. As usual, any help most appreciated and thanks for taking the time to read this. I also just noticed that if I minimize something it just disappears, cant click icon to return the page.
Vid card = GeForce GTS250
AMD Athlon 64 processor.
2gb ram.
I am notsure what version of pclos. Its pretty recent and I have KDE installed

Gooday all. I have returned to this issue after being too busy to do much about it. I decided to log in as root and everything is normal. I had tried to put a couple of widgets up before this started to happen. I only just remembered that. Any help would be most gratefully received.

I'm with PCLOS 2010 LXDE and managed to restart my corrupted bottom panel to the initial state by deleting certain files in my Home directory:

Which DE version of PCLinuxOS are you using?

I have had a similar experience with the 2010 Kde4 Pclinuxos when I play games on it. A few games it does it with is dosbox warcraft it does it with and dosbox Heroes of Might and Magic.

Did you install the 2010 iso or is this an 2009 system updated to KDE4 2010 ?

Machine described in first post. Samsung 250gb hd, Vid card = GeForce GTS250AMD Athlon 64 processor.2gb ram. Also on this drive is a Win7 partition, and I have another small hd with a Mandriva distro on it. Downloaded PCLOS2010 ISO, burnt to disk and checked, all good. Installed and operated very well for  a month or so. I think it was when I tried a couple of widgets that the above described problem started(mentioned in second post). I have searched the site for similar problems (as mentioned in first post) but could not find one exactly the same so I asked for help on the forum. I have found that one can make a bad matter infinitely worse by messing around with settings etc unless one is certain one knows exactly what one is doing. To save you the trouble of posting further to this request for help unclev I have done a clean install and all is now well. I will mark this as solved.
