[SOLVED]Can't add gadgets to shelf E17

I use KDE as my primary but love E17 so I recently updated my E17 and the new interfaces are killing me. I create a shelf but how do I add gadgets to it? when I configure the shelf I see no place to add gadgets.

Right-click the shelf. Click shelf1, Set Shelf Contents. "shelf1" is just an example, as I don't know what shelf # yours will be.

It seems I can't right click the shelf if it's invisible... but I made it visible put some gadgets on there and then made it invisible again thanks

Yes, invisible shelves don't always play nice when the "bling" module is loaded.  For example the workspace switcher won't function invisible with bling running, at least in my experience.  Adding applications to the ibar gadget is

With the last update, the bling module was replaced with composite module. The transparency issues you spoke of still exist in e17.
