<Solved> How to Change the new post-Grub splash ?
« on: May 21, 2010, 02:43:38 PM »
I've noticed that there is no splash screen editor like there was in the PCC boot section.
So i currently have no idea where or how to change the image (and the animation?) of the new PCLinuxOS 2010.
Can... someone direct me in the right way?  ::)

Try Configure Your Desktop >> Look and Feel >> Appearance > Splash Screen - Get New Themes to download new ones

That's for the Splash screen of the post-Logon.
I'm looking for the Splash screen of the post-Grub.
you know, after the OS selection, and you got the fade-in of the bull on the blue background ?

That post talks about showing verbose level or silent level.
I'm looking to change the image and animation itself of the bootup.

Sefy,
That's the Plymouth bootsplash. There are some other themes available in the repos.

The files are in /usr/share/plymouth/themes/ If you're using PCLinuxOS-LXDE, you'll see 2 folders - PCLinuxOS and PCLXDE plus any you have added. To switch from one theme to another, type the F4 key to open a terminal and type in
Code: [Select]
switch-themes name-of-theme
Type enter.
