OK Texstar...

So... what should I do now? Wait for a fix to hit the repos?
Try what you did?

I suggest you do what Texstar said in his last comment but make sure and make a backup of the originals just in case something goes wrong.

Scratch that, maybe you should just try and install Mesa?

I have Mesa installed... no difference... and am not to change drivers just to play a game since I have an Nvidia card which works with 3D well...

Am considering Texstar's solution but wish there were something more practical... I am sure that there are more people out there that have the same problem.

There should be a solution to the system itself to avoid this problem, it seems Warzone was not the only application that has problems because of configuration or liberties...

Actually just moving libGL.so libGL.so.1 libGL.so.1.2 out of /usr/lib seems to work just as good. Interesting...

You mean removing and backing up libGL.so libGL.so.1 libGL.so.1.2?
I made an s-link from the fglrx-lib pointing to /usr/lib. Much more elegant IMO, but after every reboot, the old situation is restored.
However, I have several libGL apps running without any problems (GoOllie and OpenArena).

I just moved them to /opt/backup. I have other games that also work just fine. Just Chromium-bsu and Warzone that seems to grab /usr/lib/libGL.so.x  even though /usr/lib/fglrx is pointed properly in /etc/alternatives/gl_conf and /etc/ld.so.conf.d folder.

Have you tried (re)-installing the nvidia driver's devel package? Back at the WZ forum we had a couple of guys who had a problem with nvidia graphic cards (I don't remember what exactly) and a suggestion to simply re-install the devel package seemed to work.

Nameless, I have a radeon hd 3200 and I'm lucky, because the fglrx driver works fine this time.  :)

Look at this thread in the Warzone forum: http://forums.wz2100.net/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=5157#p53110

Well Texstar, I moved those, libGL.so libGL.so.1 libGL.so.1.2 in to a folder I mde right at the usr/lib name libGL so that I could remember in case of any need to restore them...

Now Warzone starts! I wonder if any application will need this files. Hope I don't have any problems.

If anything else needs be done to sort this a bit further let it be known.

Will keep an eye at this thread.

And... thanks for the attention!

Hey Nameless, I have had black screen with lone mouse pointer after ending warzone and starcraft. This happens most of the time. I wonder if this will keep happening with other games that run on full screen.

Have you have had this problem?

Why wont KDE desktop not return back to normal. I am force to reset the X server (Ctrl+Alt+Backspace) every time this happens.

Have you tried and simply waited it out?

I personally haven't had this problem, but then again I compiled it from source and am running Pclos with Xfce :D, not that it would matter (I'd think).

Have you tried reducing your texture size, turning off shadows and screen-shake? Have you disabled compiz (or whatever's the equivalent) in KDE?? Sometimes Warzone doesn't play fair when your compiz-equivalent is enabled.

Or, the problem could be even be worse; your graphics card has poor OpenGL support. (but if Warzone *HAD* been running just fine before it decided to act up, I don't see a problem here)

Well... I think it got sorted with the last update I made...

But still, Starcraft will occasionally end to a black screen.... and that needs no openGL....

Forget that anyways... Thanks again... I will mark this as solved... sort-of solved...
