Hello,
I've just installed PCLOS 2010 (the KDE MiniMe version) and I'm really impressed with it. One of the best distros I've ever tried! I'm not sure if this is the right sub-forum for this question, but I wasn't sure where to put it. My computer (a "frankenbox" I built myself) has an on-board NVidia graphics chip. I got the NVidia driver up and running with no problem (in fact, with probably the least amount of effort with any distro I've tried!) and I've got my full 1980x1020 (1080p) resolution on the desktop once I'm logged in, and the desktop is splendid indeed. However, when booting, the boot splash -- is that the correct term? I mean the graphic which says "PCLinuxOS" with the bull underneath -- appears to be displayed at 800x600 or some other low resolution -- it's huge and jagged and raggedy. The proper resolution doesn't kick in until I'm logged in. Is there any way to fix this at all? Is there a way to somehow set or force the proper resolution when booting? (Or, failing that, is there a way to turn off the boot splash image and just have an old-fashioned Linux text boot?
Thanks for any help.
