Sleep launcher on panel
« on: April 30, 2010, 10:50:40 AM »
Hi all,

I'd like to have a sleep launcher on my panel.

All the apps in the Kmenu 'above the line' have a choice in the right click menu to add to panel.

Any click right or left on the sleep button makes my machine... sleep.

I could probably create a launcher if I knew the command the sleep button used, but it doesn't show up in the Kmenu edit tool.

Ideas?

Dave

I think KShutdown is exactly what you are looking for. Check it out.

This command will put your computer to sleep..  You need to be root or use sudo:

  echo mem >/sys/power/state
