help with wireless adaptor

Hi all, i'm a new convert to linux.....gotta say i'm most impressed with it so far....so much so i deleted THAT other operating system off my laptop and now only use this, does anyone know how to get a Buffalo WLI-U2-G300N to work in linux, ive been searching the forum and the net, the most info i found is a vague mention of an NDIS wrapper, now i have noticed when setting up a new wireless connection, via configure your computer, i have select the network interface to configure, this is one interface, pan0: Use a windows driver (with ndiswrapper)......... would this be the way to go about it, and how would i do it, please be aware i'm a newbie so don't know much about linux yet.

Open Synaptic click 'Search' then type "ndiswarapper-mrvw245" into the search box. Once you see it double click it and then if you see a window popup that says "Mark additional required changes?" click 'Mark' then click 'Apply' to install.
Once installed close out of Synaptic and open 'Configure Your Computer' then choose 'Network & Internet' on the left panel. Then click 'Set up a new network interface'. Then choose 'Wireless (Wi-Fi)' and click 'Next'. Then choose 'Use a Windows driver' and click 'Next'. Then choose the ndiswrapper-mrvw245 that you just installed from the list and click 'Next'.
If successful your wireless radio will be active and now you can choose from the list of Wireless networks that it detected. Click 'Next' leaving everything as is and then enter the password for your network if there is one. The type of encryption will be detected automatically. Then click 'Next' again a few more times leaving everything as it is.
Hopefully, now your wireless will be up and running.

In addition to 4evergr8ful excellent post, it occasionally takes a restart of your desktop and/or your wireless adaptor.
