New version(s) of VirtualBox now available
« on: May 11, 2010, 04:01:42 PM »
VirtualBox 3.1.8 was released on 2010-05-05. Fixes several problems, including the 'one-pixel off' problem that plagued people who activated 'auto-hide' on the panel and couldn't grab it.

Also, they have a beta out there of 3.2.0 (beta 2 is latest).

I downloaded and tried it but ended up uninstalling and reverted to the previous version.

I do a lot of work in my XP guest and save it to PClinuxOS (don't trust Windblows) and found that saving back into my Home partition was a very hit and miss affair, about on a par with me trying to find the door keys after a night on the turps......... assuming I've ended up at the right house.

Need for work, so had no time to explore what was going on. I am interested to hear if anyone else has this problem.
There is always a way

3.2.0 is out but without PCLinuxOS file. Has Oracle a bone to pick with Tex?  :D

I noticed that with the exception of RHEL4, all of the other distro's have 64 bit versions. Could it be that they have dropped PCLOS because of that?

Grab 3.1.8 now you still can, it is the "king of the road" right now and what Oracle is planning knows only ... Oracle.
3.2 so far is ... well, a Oracle (the prediction site of it)?  ;D

Why do you draw that conclusion?  It is about the same as saying that they dropped PCLinux because it doesn't have a 64 bit edition. Both are pretty bad in leaping to conclusions without any facts.

Not intending to jump to a conclusion.  Just an interesting coincidence.

i think they dont have pclinuxos version yet because we have a new and rebased core system.

I suspect they will add it later on and future versions will have 2010 builds.

The Virtualbox guys could have told on their forums why they still have no PCLinuxOS version.

I do not think that PCLOS was not in the Download section by accident.

I have the 3.1.8 and when I use the "Check for updates" it says 'You are already running the most recent version'.

I really do not understand why Oracle did this >:(

Excuse me for jumping in here, but I read a post from Texstar that said the PClos version was dropped due to low download numbers. Not too mysterious!  ;D ;D

But an encouraging tweet from Tex is that help is on the way!
