Sound problem
« on: May 07, 2010, 07:27:02 AM »
I'm new to PCLinux OS 2010, i have it in Dual Boot (actually Triple Boot) with XP and Windows 7, everything seems to be working properly except that i can hardly hear sound, i can hear something but it is really low so what could be the culprit.

My laptop is an Acer 4520, AMD Athlon X2 and 4 Gig of RAM. I didn't have any problems even for the wireless connection which was giving me problems with some other distros of Linux. If i can fix the sound problem it will be perfect.

Thanks for your time

It seems that i fix the sound problem, i right click on the speaker in the task bar and put a dot in Speaker rather than Master and it works...still looking for the x server choice...

Usually the correct driver is preselected so all you need is to accept it.

Thanks for the reply

I did went back to the configuration of the Graphical server, choose GeForce 6100 and later, accepted to use it, verified the configuration and everything seems ok from then. If i open back the same windows in PcLinux Control Center i still have the same info on Graphic card: NVIDIA cards not working with nv so for me it is still a problem that i don't know anything about.

Your card is now using the NVidia driver, and you are speaking about a message that says it will not work with the nv driver .........  so forget it as you already have a correct driver in use.  ;)
