Using the gnome version here.
I needed to change some file permissions on imported data files, so I did "gksu nautilus" and got on with my business. Now when I login I get this issue. At login page, I select my user name and put in password and hit enter and just before the desktop loads, a small window opens saying nautilus needs the root password. If I enter the root password, the root desktop loads and I am logged in as root. But if I just cancel, my user desktop loads and everything works right. A small annoyance but I would like to put it aright.
Your help is appreciated.
BTW, long time ubu fan here but the gnome 2010 kicks ubu 10.04 to the curb. I am greatly disappointed in 10.04.
More info, when I use nautilus in superuser mode, either thru su,password, nautilus or gksu nautilus, I get a root desktop and have to "killall nautilus" to get back to my user desktop.
