which sources.list I use for XFCE(Phoenix)
« on: May 05, 2010, 10:11:44 AM »
I downloaded and installed XFCE(Phoenix) with the following sources.list:http://distro.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/distributions/texstar/pclinuxos/apt/. Is this list the list to regularly update the distro?

I'm not sure if it is installed on Phoenix, but the "Repo Speed Test" (aka apt-sources-update) script will download the latest sources.list and test all repositories in the list to help you find the fastest one (all repositories in the list are identical..  usually the one closest to your geographic location is the one you want, but sometimes more distant ones can be faster; the script will test download speeds for each of them).  Unlike some other linux distro's, you should only have ONE software repository enabled in PCLinuxOS.

You can also get the latest sources.list file here:

http://distro.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/distributions/texstar/repo2010/sources.list
(same place the script downloads it from):
